Milton Celebrates 150 Years

It will be a full year of celebrations for 2010 in Milton as the village celebrates its 150-year history.
The celebrations started with the New Year and a barbecue on January 2 to celebrate the founding of the town.
Milton was officially founded when the first post office was opened on January 1, 1860.
While families had lived in what was called The Settlement for many years, it was not until calls for a post office closer to The Settlement was heeded that the town was officially started.
