JAZZ GREAT TO HEADLINE artFEST

"We're honoured to announce that Don Burrows, grandfather of Australian jazz and Australia's National Treasure, will be our featured headline artist this year," said artFESt president, Julie Sydenham.

"It's an incredible coup for artFEST and our community to have him coming here."

Don Burrows performs for artFEST at Milton Theatre, Friday, September 26. Tickets will go on sale within the next couple of weeks and are expected to sell out quickly.

 MUSIC PROGRAM 08

A feature of artFEST 08 will be a vibrant live music program, including international performers, local headline acts and workshops.

"artFEST's inaugural music program last year was a delightful success which means there's a reputation and expectation to live up to this time round.

"With that in mind we've wanted to get a head start on things for this year," explained Tina Broad of MUD Music Council, the community organisation responsible for creating artFEST's music element.

"With our goal being to present a diversity of sights and sounds, from near and far, we've got everything from African dance and drumming to classical, Celtic, dark cabaret and musical comedy under consideration at the moment."

Popular events from last year will reappear, including the festival kick-start on the foreshores of Ulladulla Harbour, Harbour Beats, complete with bonfire, drum circle and dancing.
