After
travelling through northern Italy during May 2008, local
ceramic artist Julie Sydenham was re-inspired by the
elaborate Tuscan ceramics of beautiful hill-top towns such
as Assisi and San Gimignano.
Upon
returning to Milton Julie, who owns and runs House of Jules
Art Studio, decided to open "Splatters" Art Supplies
in Milton where she would also establish a hand-painted
ceramics gallery in the upstairs area.
During
artfest (which begins just after Scribbles will open it's
doors in September) Julie's latest ceramic creations will be
on display.
Visit the
new shop to discover a unique range of functional pieces
which combine the essence of Italian designs with the
flavours of Australian motifs.
Julie has
been creating ceramic pieces for almost ten years and has
had several such pieces feature on the cover of the "Australian
Ceramics & Pottery" magazine, as well as many featured
project articles.
